Lone Cabin Design

I imagine this cabin to be in a campsite. Although, it cabin isn’t much of a cabin. It’s just a bedroom and a deck. (No bathroom!) I certantly wouldn’t want to stay here. But it’s perfect for the more outdoorsey type (who don’t mind walking to the camp bathroom.) The bedroom has lots of windows (perfect for staying close to nature, but not really perfect for getting dressed in the morning.)
If walls could dream… they’d dream of camping

Blue and Brown Kitchen Design

Brown goes great with blue. Actually, brown goes great with just about anything! Brown and pink is great for a girl’s room. Brown and green is great for an earthy office. Brown and blue, though is great for every room in the the house. This is a brown and blue kitchen. There is a shelf for cerial and other frequently used items above the sink. The faucet is super modern and I designed it myself (because it is REALLY hard to draw a traditional faucet and not have it look REALLY lame, trust me i’ve tried a million and three times.) The door towards the left goes into a small pantry. The brown cieling keeps the room warm.
If walls could dream… they’d dream of blue and brown.

Living Room Design

Don’t you love the color scheme in this living room? I know I do!

The green color of the walls and the floral detail behind the TV bring a natural atmosphere to this living room. All that you can see of living room furnature is the green coffee table. The orange almost-clear cabinet doors of the TV stand add a funky modern detail. I love that the cabinet hardware on the full height cabinets are horizontal and the hardware on the TV stand is vertical. The floral detail behind the TV could be a wood cut-out or simply painted with brown paint.
If walls could dream… they’d dream of floral detail.

Black and White Bedroom Design

Here is a black and white bedroom! Well, sorta. In real life it wouldn’t be black and white but I just wasn’t sure how to color it, so I left it in pencil.
To the left is a desk area complete with pencil jar and book! The title actually written on the book is “Book About Stuff.” Looks like a good read!
Straight ahaid is a window bench with storage to both sides.
To the right is the bed.
If walls could dream… they’d dream in black and white.

House Inspired By Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky was an abstract painter of the early 20th century. Wassily Kandinsky was born in Moscow in 1866. One of Wassily Kandinsky’s paintings inspired this house and you will see it throughout.

This is the kitchen. Notice the large island and cookbook storage above the cabinet towards the middle of the picture. The Kandinsky painting is found on the stools and in the backsplash and on some of the cookbooks.

This is the dining room from the living room. There is a small office a little toward the right of center. The kitchen island is to the right. The front door is to the left. The Kandinsky painting is found on the stools, the column, and in the frames.

This is the first floor layout. The great room is in the bottom center with a bathroom in the bottom right corner. The garage, laundry room, and mud room are on the top.
This is the second floor layout. There are three bedrooms, one bathroom (overall there are two bathrooms, one is downstairs and they both have a shower and one has a tub) and lots of closets.
If walls could dream… they’d dream of Wassily Kandinsky

WOW house

This house is called the WOW house because of its bold colors and 688sqft size.
Shown in the first picture is the dining area. The built-in look of the dining area looks cool and is smaller than a traditional dining set. The accent color in this house is red. Here you see two red benches and two red walls.
Shown in the second picture is the kitchen. I tried to put everything you would find in a normal-sized kitchen into this 12 foot long built-in. Going from top left to bottom right here are the things found in this kitchen; microwave, oven, dishwasher, sink, storage/prepspace, cooktop, freezer, fridge. The countertop is the red accent in this part of the house.
Shown in the third picture is the office space. If you lived here and did not need an office, this could be a storage area. The red accents here are the chair, computer, and wall.
Shown in the fourth picture is the floorplan. You can see the office in the top left, a bedroom below that, and the large (170sqft!!!) deck in the bottom left. You can see the living room in the top right, the kitchen and dining nook below that and a bedroom in the bottom right. This house has a small laundry closet.
If walls could dream… they’d dream of 170 sqft decks!!!

Funky Beach Kitchen Design

Who said a beach kitchen can’t be funky?
Actually, I think I’m the first person to say that!
This beach kitchen definitely has a funk, with the blue and purple shelving to the right and painting to the left, with the brown patterns on the cabinet doors, with the gold ceiling, with the black floor tiles, and the HUGE view of the beach. This view is an open door in the wall directly in front of you. The countertop extends to the outside, perfect for entertaining on the beach.
If walls could dream… they’d dream of the beach.

Grocery Store Bedroom Design

So I decided that today, I was going to draw a bedroom. I had the idea that it would be cool if the headboard matched the ceiling. So I drew my bedroom with the extra tall headboard and the mirror on the left wall and the window on the right wall. I took out my colored pencils and crayons and began coloring.  As I was coloring I thought, “This is either gonna look really good, or take a sour turn at the grocery store!” Well, as sad as I am to say this, I think it took the sour turn at the grocery store. The purple on the walls reminds me of a grape or a blueberry, not a royal castle. The yellow on the headboard, footboard, and ceiling reminds me of mustard, rather than gold. I believe that this room would have turned onto “really good” road if I had kept the walls a neutral gray and made all the accents wood or golden yellow. My favorite part of this room is the mirror, which I think is on “really really good” road.
If walls could dream… sadly, they’d dream of mustard and grapes.

Furniture: Shelving Unit

Here is a shelving unit I designed.
Here is the shelving unit as a dresser in a girl’s room.
Here is the shelving unit as a bookcase under a window in a home office.
Here is the shelving unit as a hutch under a mirror with some flowers in the entry hall of a house.
If walls could dream… then maybe shelving units could too!
